The first place we ate at was the Rose and Crown. The Rose and Crown is a British pub and dining room. I had the Potato and leek soup, and cottage pie. Stefan had fish and chips. The Potato and leeks soup was remarkably flavorful. I usually like to put a lot of pepper in potato soup, but in this soup I really didn't need to. The bread that they serve was amazingly flaky, soft, and tasty. Stefan and I both dislike fish, but he said that the fish was great. (I thought it was OK, but like I said. I don't like fish.) The chips were probably the best I've ever had. The cottage pie was pretty good, but too salty. That was a real disappointment because I find so few places that serve shepherds or cottage pie, and I thought at Epcot they would make one of the best. For dessert we had toffee pudding, which was a vanilla pudding, served with a milk chocolate bundt cake in it, and toffee syrup on the top. The toffee syrup was almost overwhelmingly sweet, and the budt cake and pudding were very mild. There was also a hint of saltiness. It was a perfect blend and one of the best things we ate our whole vacation. The service was amazing (as it usually is at Disneyland). We told the host that we were hoping to watch the fireworks after dinner, and they sat us at a table in a covered porch. (It was raining when we sat down. The perfect environment for a traditional English supper!) Our server timed everything just perfectly so that our dessert arrived just before the fireworks started. The staff opened up the sides of the patio just before the fireworks, so we got to enjoy our treat and watch fireworks! It was the perfect dinning experience to start off our vacation.
